Victoria Chapus named to USATF Foundation Board of Directors

INDIANAPOLIS – Victoria Chapus, former track & field athlete for UCLA, has been named as a Director of the USA Track & Field Foundation Board, USATF Foundation Executive Director Tom Jackovic and Chairman Bob Greifeld announced today.

“I am excited to be a part of the USATF Foundation’s dynamic Board of Directors,” said Chapus. “I hope that I can help them in their mission to provide support for track and field programs.”

Victoria is currently a Trustee at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, CA, having previously been an elementary school teacher. While competing, Chapus earned her BA and went on to complete her Master’s Degree.

Chapus grew up running age-group track in Southern California. She was a 3-time CIF State 3200m Champion, 2-time Junior Pan-American 3000m Champion (1980, 1982) and held age-group records competing as Vickie Cook.

Victoria lives in the Pacific Palisades, CA, with her 6 children and husband, Jean-Marc Chapus. Recently, she has become more involved in track because her oldest daughter is competing.



The USATF Foundation provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging and experienced elite athletes, along with guidance on future career paths. The Foundation depends upon donations from its Board of Directors, major gifts, and from generous fans of track & field.

Elite athletes are supported by the Foundation via monetary grants, career counseling (mentoring and jobs) and participation in Run With US!. Youth athletes are supported via monetary grants to youth clubs.
