10 Jul USATF Foundation and GNC Live Well Launch In-Store and Online Fundraising Campaign to Support Foundation Programs
PITTSBURGH, PA – The USA Track & Field Foundation (USATF Foundation) announced today that GNC stores nationwide will participate in a month-long fundraising and awareness campaign – marking the third consecutive year and four years total of their partnership with GNC Holdings, Inc. and the GNC Live Well Foundation.
As of Thursday, June 28, customers are able to donate $1, $5 or $10 to the GNC Live Well Foundation at checkout with 100% of all donations collected supporting the USATF Foundation programs. GNC locations and GNC.com will accept donations through Wednesday, August 1.
In 2014, 2016 and 2017 GNC customers and associates raised a total of over $505,000 in support of the USATF Foundation and the Foundation’s Run With US! Program, which enables athletes who are training for the Olympics to realize their dreams while giving back to their communities – inspiring youth with their stories of dedication and strength.
“GNC is honored to once again support the USATF Foundation and its Run With US! Program,” said GNC CEO Ken Martindale. “Inspiring the next generation to live a healthy lifestyle is an important step to living well, and we applaud the contributions our customers and associates made in the past few years.”
Money raised will help the USATF Foundation expand their Run With US! and Elite Athlete Development Programs. Run With US! was launched in 2012 and uses American heroes — our track & field athletes — to inspire children to get fit, make healthy choices while learning to set and achieve their goals. As part of the program, track & field Olympians and Olympic hopefuls visit schools and community centers, where they talk about the importance of fitness, nutrition, and making positive choices.
Tom Jackovic, Executive Director of the USATF Foundation stated, “GNC and its customers continue to support our youth and elite track & field athletes in ways that truly impact the sport. So many kids and Olympic hopefuls benefit from the point of sale solicitation. We can’t say thank you enough.”
