27 Aug Katie Izzo Awarded $5,000 Adopt an Athlete Grant
PITTSBURGH-
The USATF Foundation is pleased to announce that long-distance runner Katie Izzo has been awarded a $5,000 Adopt an Athlete grant. This generous support comes from her fellow alumni from California Polytechnic State University, SLO, and will provide essential assistance as Katie continues her impressive career in cross country and track and field.
Katie Izzo has consistently demonstrated her talent by competing in both the US and World Cross Country Championships. Her dedication and outstanding performances have made her a standout athlete. Katie was on the cusp of making the U.S. Olympic Team in the 10,000 meters, thanks to her high rankings in cross country.
“Thank you so very much!” says Izzo. “I am beyond grateful to receive an Adopt-an-Athlete Grant. The kindness and generosity from my donor will help elevate my training. It will allow me to get the necessary treatment and care to stay healthy as I pursue my dreams of making World and Olympic Teams It is a blessing to receive this grant.”
