JuVaughn Harrison Awarded $10,000 Adopt an Athlete Grant

PITTSBURGH-

The USATF Foundation is proud to announce that JuVaughn Harrison, high jumper and long jumper, has been awarded a $10,000 Adopt an Athlete grant through a gift by donor Lee Pease. This support comes at a crucial time as Harrison continues to excel on the international stage, preparing to compete in his second Olympic Games for Team USA.

Harrison, known for his impressive versatility in both high jump and long jump, has been making significant strides in his athletic career. His recent success at the World Athletics Championships, where he secured the silver medal in the high jump, showcased his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.

Primary Advisor for the Pease Memorial Fund, Lee Pease explained, “My dad, Roy Pease, was the 1942 New Jersey State Champ in the 100-yard dash, 220-yard dash, and long jump.  His passion for track and field was passed down to the entire family and growing up, we loved cheering on the incredible Team USA athletes at the Summer Olympics. After learning about the Adopt an Athlete Program we knew this would be a great way to honor my parents. We are thrilled to support JuVaughn and will be rooting him on as he competes for the high jump gold in Paris.”

The Adopt an Athlete program is designed to alleviate the financial burdens faced by elite athletes, enabling them to concentrate fully on their training and competition goals.

“I would love to thank Mr. Pease and his family for their support! It helps out a lot, and I can’t express my gratitude enough! Thank you so much; I greatly appreciate the help!” exclaimed JuVaughn Harrison.
